Information for your holiday.
It’s that time again! Summer is approaching, and we’re about to decide which destination to visit this year. And this year, it’s Lesbos. In 2018, I had the privilege of working on this beautiful and authentic island for 7 months. Mass tourism hasn’t taken hold here yet. Of course, you want to know exactly what you can do on this destination and which are the best restaurants now. Because this island is so large, it’s important to do your research so you don’t miss out on any hidden gems. On this page, I’ll try to tell you everything about Lesbos and provide you with the tools for an unforgettable vacation. Lesbos tips. #dutchtraveller

Flamingos nearby Kalloni
Lesvos is abundant in rich flora and fauna. Bird enthusiasts can fully enjoy sightings of the white stork, pink flamingo, and black heron, among others. More than 200 different bird species have been spotted on the island of Lesvos.
Saint Ignatios Monastery
The Monastery of Saint Ignatios, a 10-minute drive from Kalloni, also known as the Limonas Monastery, was founded in 1526. It houses numerous documents from ancient Greece and the Ottoman period.
Skala Kalloni
By the Bay of Kalloni, you’ll find the holiday village of Skala Kalloni where you can enjoy a delightful Greek coffee after visiting the flamingos. My favorite is “ena freddo espresso metrio” (one medium iced espresso).
Agia Paraskevi
A picturesque traditional village in the heart of Lesbos. Once the wealthiest village on the island due to its central location and abundant olive groves. You’ll also find an olive oil museum here. For lunch, pay a visit to Oasis in the village center. It’s very cozy, and the owner is a very friendly man.
